Michael Jordan's legacy is as big as his fame. The former Chicago Bulls star is considered by

many to be the greatest basketball player of all time. He was a 5x NBA champion, 6x NBA MVP, 10x NBA All-Star and 3x All-NBA First Team player. Michael Jordan's influence on today's game is immeasurable: almost every aspect of his game has been copied and adapted by other players in one way or another—from his famous fadeaway jump shot to his killer instinct on court (and off).

But there are some things that only he can do: like dunking from half court to win playoff games at age 40; being so cool that even if you don't watch sports at all, you still know who he is; having a smile so infectious it could melt an iceberg quicker than global warming could melt an ice cube in your glass of water...

He was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 17, 1963. His parents were James and Deloris Jordan. He grew up with two brothers and one sister (Larry, James Jr., and Roslyn). His father was a mechanic for the New York City MTA (Metro Transit Authority) and his mother worked as a bank teller.

Michael began playing basketball when he was only nine years old. He started on the junior varsity team at Emsley A. Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina Michael Jordan is also one of the greatest athletes in history. The first basketball game took place on December 21st 1891 between two teams from different New England colleges; Transylvania University versus Yale University with a score of 1-0 (Transylvania won) but it wasn't until 1899 that basketball became an official NCAA sport when Dr. Naismith's former student William Gilder led Colgate University to victory against Syracuse University with a score of 6-4. Basketball has grown into one of America's favorite sports today attracting fans from all over the world including China and Japan where teams such as Los Angeles Lakers have gained huge popularity by winning multiple championships since their inception in 1947.

Basketball is a game that can be played by people of all ages and skill levels, which makes it very popular among people from different walks of life. The sport has been played for more than 100 years now and continues to grow in popularity.
